Drivers respond to speedometer information, alerts, and other data. Proximity sensors prompt swerving when necessary. A well-designed interface helps users drive skillfully and responsively


2. Minimizing Undesired Behaviors or Outcomes


HMIs must account for human tendencies. Inadequate alerts (too slow, quiet, or subtle) delay emergency responses. Humans need bright colors and loud noises to capture attention. Consistent responsiveness ensures optimal performance. Imagine a car with unpredictable braking – it would compromise safety and create an unpleasant experience


3. User Experience Matters


Beyond functionality, users care about how a device feels. Clear, easy-to-use controls enhance satisfaction. Whether it's a membrane switch, capacitive switch, or touchscreen, a well-harmonized HMI contributes to a positive overall experience. Remember, it's not just about what the machine does; it's also about how it feels to use it
